Everything Samsung announced at its Unpacked event

Samsung’s Galaxy S22 Unpacked event has come and gone, but here is every announcement made.

As you would expect, Samsung introduced its latest flagships, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus, details of which we will bring you shortly. However, Samsung did make some other announcements at the event.

Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus

These are the main attraction at the Unpacked event. This year’s models are not that different from last year. However, Samsung has made the camera bump on the back the same color as the rest of the body. This is different from the contrasting colors on the previous versions.

Samsung has used Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on the front and back of the new phones, elevating them in sleekness compared to the plasticky backs on previous models.

The screens are 6.1 and 6.6 inches, respectively, but both share a 2340 x 1080 resolution.

The cameras have seen improvements in low-light and portrait mode performances.

Prices start at $799.99 for the S22 and $999.99 for the S22 Plus, with either model offering 128 GB ROM and 8 GB RAM.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Samsung has all but discontinued the iconic Galaxy Note line. However, the company announced its replacement, the Galaxy S22 Ultra. This is the second Ultra after the 2021 version.

The Ultra has an even faster response time of 9 milliseconds for the S-Pen, making it smoother to use than on the Note.

Like last year’s version, the camera has a 108-megapixel primary lens, accompanied by 3x and 10x telephoto lenses and an ultra-wide lens. However, Samsung has improved the low-light quality so that your after-dark pictures come out better. There is also an improvement to the depth mapping of the portrait mode. The phone can also render RAW footage.

The new Ultra has fast charging capable of receiving power at 45 W. It comes in several colors, some of which you can only get at Samsung-operated stores.

Prices start at $1,199 for the base version with 128 GB internal memory.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8

Tablets have been Android’s weak point, but Samsung is trying to change that. It announced the Galaxy Tab S8, S8 Plus, and S8 Ultra.

The S8 has an 11-inch screen, while the S8 Plus sports a 12.4-inch screen. Both have a 120 Hz refresh rate. However, the S8 Ultra measures 14.6-inch and uses OLED tech.

All three tablets run Android 12, with Samsung’s custom skin that enhances their multitasking abilities. They can also serve as a second display when connected to a Samsung PC.

Prices start at $699 for the S8, while the base S8 Plus sells for $899.99
