Evolution of Fortnite

Fortnite is an online video game developed by Epic Games. Fortnite is available in almost three distinct game mode versions that almost share the same gameplay and game engine: Fortnite-Save the World, Fortnite Battle Royal and Fortnite Creative.

Fortnite-Save the World:

It all began in 2011 when Fortnite was first introduced, Developers aim was to create a game and get it to the players as early as possible this is the main reason that the game has its cartoonish style. In 2011, the game was all about building forts, surviving the destruction & recovering the materials. The mode was very similar to the Save the World mode now but in addition with more basic graphics. These all were just an idea Developers has not any real game for the users to play. But Developers announced that the game is now going to launch in 2012 but for some reasons, it was delayed for almost 5 years but in 2016 the developers finally decided to launch the game and this time the real focus of the developers will be its Paragon, a free-to-play MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena).

On June 19, 2020, Developers of Epic game announced that they are not considering Save the World mode to be in longer access, companion move, eliminating the early access labels from both Battle Royal and Creative mode.

Fortnite Battle Royal:

Finally, in 2017 Developers were able to release the “Save the World” version as an early paid in July 2017 on PC, Xbox One and PS4. At that time, the Player Unknown Battleground PUBG has become a world phenomenon so the Epic Game Developers realized that they can also do a Battle Royal Mode with the basic mode. Within 2 months of releasing the Save the World in September 2017, the Developers release the Battle Royal Mode as a second mode. The Developers first decided to launch it as a paid access mode but then later they decided to launch it as a free-to-play game. The Battle Royal Mode version successfully gained players almost over 10 million within two weeks of releasing the game. Since then, the Fortnite has received an insane amount of attention and millions of downloads worldwide.

Fortnite Creative:

A creative sandbox mode was launched on 6 December 2018, which was coordinated with the start of season 7 of Fortnite Battle Royal. In this mode, players can create structures, buildings and other objects on their private island and can share them with the 16 players (including the owner).

Players can add, copy, paste, remove, or erase ground tiles, items, and game features. Players can have up to 4 private islands where they can construct. The Island will reset to its previous shape or condition every time before the game started. During the Creative mode development, the main priority of the Developers was the speed that is why several bugs were found on the release of the game. Developers have updated the game several times from the day it was launched. They have fixed a lot of bugs, added a lot of new buildings and many new islands were introduced since the release.
